An update on our walks
As many of you know we had to suspend our walks back in March due to the Covid Pandemic and during the past few months we have all been continuing to keep in touch via phone and text.
We are a really strong group that not only meets for some exercise but also for some vital socialisation. Many group members are finding this time very challenging as the social contact from our group (and many other groups) was a key coping mechanism. Connecting with nature can help those living with Dementia feel less stressed, anxious and agitated.
Many members have spoken about the friendships they have made as part of the group and we are delighted to see them staying in touch.
We are really missing everyone and being able to get out in the beautiful AONB each week. We are looking forward to relaunching the ‘Dementia Walks for All’ project once it is safe to do so. Please keep checking back for more information.
